Service Description

March 21 & 22, 6:00pm - 9:00pm Lead Instructor: Wy-J (RAW Member) Composed in 2004 by Shoji Kameda, Omiyage means “gift” in Japanese. This Naname style piece was gifted to the wider taiko community in 2005 with the intention of supporting the growth and camaraderie amongst North American taiko groups. It is now one of the most common taiko compositions played world-wide, notable for its dynamic movements, bachi twirls, and boisterous kiais! In this 2-day workshop, participants will learn key sections, movements and rhythms of Omiyage in the style of RAW Taiko. **Prerequisite: Prior experience with Naname style taiko strongly recommended. Sliding scale $200-$250 + HST
