STUDIO BOOKING REQUESTS

Studio RAW is a 1700 Sq foot multi-use movement & music studio equipped with a sprung dance floor, mirrors, theatre curtains, and lighting equipment. To book the studio for rehearsals, workshops, intimate performances, filming or other events, please email studioraw(at)rawtaiko(dot)ca with the following information.

​STUDIO RAW FEATURES

​

• 1700 Sq foot multi-use movement & music studio

• 1200 sq ft (45' x 26') of sprung dance sub-floor with Timestep vinyl dance flooring on top

• Large windows, high ceiling (9.5 feet tall)

• Full mirror wall (24 feet long)

• Ventilation system consisting of air conditioning, HEPA filtration, windows, and standing fans

• Forced air gas heating in winter

• Kitchenette & small single stall bathroom

• Unlimited high speed Wifi 

• Variety of workout and warm-up equipment 

• Two (2) folding tables & twenty (20) folding chairs

• Black theatre curtains installed on a ceiling track (suitable for converting the rehearsal space into a performance stage for intimate audiences or virtual live streaming)

• Audio/Visual and Media Equipment (available for use at additional cost; please inquire for full details)

ACCESSIBILITY

 

Please note that RAW made every effort to secure a wheelchair accessible space, but viable spaces were extremely limited to us due the outstanding building noise-allowance requirements of our taiko activities.

• Studio RAW is located on the top/second floor of a low-rise building. To access the studio, visitors must walk up one flight of stairs (20 steps) with railing. The stairwell is 45” wide. 

• For anyone unable to use the stairs, Studio RAW is equipped with a single person stair lift.

• Studio RAW is a low-scent space and RAW regularly uses unscented cleaning products.

• Street parking is available for free on the North and South sides of Dupont St (except for 7am-9am & 4pm-6pm, Mon-Fri). The Galleria Mall Parking lot offers free parking (anytime).

BOOKING & PAYMENT

• Bookings must be a minimum of two (2) hours

• The rental rate is $50/hour

• Studio RAW is able to offer a limited amount of rentals at sliding scale rates. Priority for sliding scale goes to Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous & People of Colour communities experiencing financial barriers to studio rental. Sliding scale is ONLY applicable to bookings of 4 hours of more. Requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis, pending Studio RAW's capacity for sliding scale at the time of request.
