Drills to Grow and Connect Tuesday July 21, 6:30-8:30PM (2hr workshop) Lead Instructor: Yurika Chiba (RAW Guest Artist) The goal of this workshop will be to play a lot together. It is based on the concept of Uchikomi, which is repetitive training to promote muscle memory, ergonomics of form, and physical conditioning. We will cover some form notes for betta, shime and odaiko, and learn fun drills to enjoy playing more, thinking less, and giving and receiving energy from others. Yurika was a performer and instructor with San Jose Taiko for 20 years, where drilling is an integral part of taiko practice. She loves drills and believes in their ability to help taiko players grow and connect. **Foundational taiko experience required** Cost: Sliding Scale $25-$45
