Want to learn taiko but not sure where to start? Here’s your chance! Join us at Studio RAW this fall for our 6-Week Beginner Beta Style Taiko Course! Beta taiko drumming involves playing the drum flat and upright, with the head of the drum parallel to the ground. This is a great style for people who are brand new to taiko! In this course, participants will learn the fundamentals of beta style taiko, including stance, form, grip, and strike, as well as introductory level taiko exercises to begin building a solid foundation of rhythm and musicality. Course runs on Thursdays 6:30pm-8:00pm from Oct 10 - Nov 14 Open to all (people of all genders and ethnicities) ages 18+ Sliding scale $240-$360 + HST Bachi (drumsticks) will be provided.
